Rejuvenating Yoga Session at Vishwashanti Gurukul World School
A Journey to Inner Peace and Well-being
On the pleasant Monday morning of July 17th, a rejuvenating yoga session was held at MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul. Eager participants of MYP and DP gathered in harmony, seeking inner peace and physical well-being at the Dome – World Peace Prayer Hall and Library.
The session was led by experienced yoga instructors, Ms. Nandini Dhus, Mr. Piyush Kagliwal, and Ms. Padma Priya, the session commenced with gentle warm-up exercises, preparing the body and mind for the transformative journey ahead. As the participants gracefully moved through various yoga asanas, the atmosphere filled with a sense of tranquility and serenity.
Breathing in sync, the students embraced each pose with mindfulness, focusing on their breath and allowing muscle constraints to melt away. The serene environment, coupled with the instructor’s soothing voice, created an atmosphere conducive to self-reflection and inner awareness.
Antara Paradkar of MYP-1 mentioned how yoga helped her to give time to herself and considered it a good start for the day. She also suggests that these sessions must be conducted once a week as it focuses on mental well-being.
Another student, Yangyang Sun of MYP Y4 adds his views, by saying that yoga can enhance body strength and body elasticity, and allows a balanced development of the body and the mind. He too is of the opinion that sessions such as these must be conducted on a regular basis. Naman Munot, a student from MYP Y3, shares his experience and says, “ After yoga, my body felt free, especially after Shavasan which was the most relaxing asana out of all because he could focus on his breathing.”
By embracing the ancient practice of yoga, the school empowers young minds to cultivate a harmonious balance between their studies, personal growth, and overall wellness. The session concluded with a tranquil meditation, guiding the participants into a state of deep relaxation and connection with their inner selves. As they slowly opened their eyes, a sense of renewed energy and peace radiated from within.
The yoga session at MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul was not merely a physical exercise; it was a holistic experience that nurtured the participants’ well-being, fostering a harmonious balance of body, mind, and spirit. The session has undoubtedly left a lasting impact, which is why now we will be conducting Yoga sessions twice a month as a regular practice for the whole school and in the boarding too during the morning exercise routine time.
