Reliability: Our energy systems have evolved alongside fossil fuels, making them highly dependable. Infrastructure: Global infrastructure supports their use, making an energy shift challenging, especially for low-income countries. Affordability: Fossil fuels are far cheaper to produce and consume than most alternatives. High Energy Density: Coal and diesel pack impressive energy levels—24MJ/kg and 46MJ/kg, respectively—with efficient systems to harness nearly all their potential. Availability: Widely accessible and affordable, fossil fuels ensure energy for everyone without disparity. But… the downsides: Fossil fuels occasionally cause environmental “oops” moments. Think of an overpopped popcorn lid! They keep Earth’s “cozy blanket” a little too tight, warming things up uncomfortably. Their love for painting our atmosphere and lungs grey isn’t ideal. They’re like a magician’s rabbit—here now, gone soon. And while versatile, their “makeovers” for Mother Earth aren’t always flattering. – Arnav Kathale   National Level Spell Bee We are thrilled to share that Aarya Waikar of MYP 4 has secured a spot in the Top 24 at the prestigious National Spell Bee competition organized by SBI-Radio Mirchi.
