Marching Towards Excellence

The 14th annual Sports Day of Pune’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School unfolded on the 4th of February, 2024. Along with several distinctive sports events, such as running at different distances, a school-wide march past event took place on the same day. The four unique houses, based on the elements of nature—Jal, known for its ambition; Vayu, known for its determination; Agni, known for its outstanding rhythm and Prithvi, known for its unwavering unity.

These four houses showcased the result of only one week of practice on the sports ground, engaging in a mesmerizing marching performance, in respect to the Chief Guest of the event, — —. The performance was an effective way to showcase the discipline developed by the students of MIT VGS. All four houses were assessed on their discipline and unity, competing for the house trophy.

After all four houses had finished their performance, the remaining athletic events scheduled for the day were finished, and the winners of the house trophy were to be announced. The judges evaluated the results and one house stood on top—Jal, who bore fruit after practicing day and night to sharpen their discipline. The soldiers followed their ambition till the end, aiming to hold the trophy in their hands. That goal was finally achieved.

“We cannot let our seniors become alumni without a trophy in their hands,” said the participants. This was their sole motive for winning. The sports day they concluded with every Jal house member getting a chance to touch the house trophy, which was a result of mixing sweat and blood.
