A Celebration of Freedom and Culture – Bastille Day at Gurukul

We are thrilled to announce that our DP1 students have cleared Preliminary Round.

On July 14th, students from DP came together to celebrate Bastille Day, France’s national holiday marking the 1789 storming of the Bastille and the birth of the French Republic.

The assembly, a result of weeks of preparation, featured skits, dances, speeches, and historical presentations — all showcasing the students’ creativity, collaboration, and international mindedness. They performed in both English and French, embodying the IB Learner Profile throughout: as communicators, inquirers, and principled global citizens.

Highlights included a reenactment of the French Revolution, musical and dance performances, a lively tongue twister challenge, and a thoughtful presentation on higher education in France. The event concluded with a spirited rendition of La Marseillaise, France’s national anthem.

This vibrant celebration reflected our school’s commitment to intercultural understanding, holistic education, and the nurturing of well-rounded, internationally minded learners.
