On the bright and energetic morning of Saturday, 5th July, the entire MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul World School community came together for a spirited Whole School Marathon under the theme “Run for Health.” As part of a nonacademic Saturday, the event highlighted the importance of physical fitness, well-being, and collective enthusiasm.
The day began with an electrifying warm-up Zumba session led by the dynamic Performing Arts Department, setting the tone for what turned out to be a memorable morning. Students, teachers, parents and staff alike gathered on the school grounds in full energy and vibrant sportswear, ready to take on the challenge.
The 5-kilometre marathon route, mapped entirely within the scenic MIT campus, provided a safe and inspiring environment for participants to test their stamina, enjoy the outdoors, and support each other. Cheered on by volunteers and teachers at every turn, students from across grades ran, jogged, or walked with enthusiasm and determination.
The event wasn’t just about physical activity—it was about building community spirit, promoting healthy habits, and celebrating perseverance. The smiles at the finish line, high-fives along the route, and shared joy captured the true essence of the day.
“Run for Health” was a resounding success and a reminder that health is indeed our wealth. We look forward to many more such initiatives that combine fitness, fun, and fellowship at MIT VGWS!
