The word тАШhumaneтАЩ shows that we are social animals. Philanthropy means service to mankind. It rests on three TтАЩs, Time, Treasure, and Talent.
Charity involves sharing and raising funds to donate books, clothes, toys, woollens to the needy. Donation of blood is a very important aspect that can save lives. If everyone gave away some things which they had excess all would be happy and contented. Being empathetic, kind, and generous are the keys to charity.
Service is to volunteer for a kind act by showcasing our talent like singing carols, playing an instrument, reading a book to someone, storytelling, and cleanliness drive. It brings smiles to others and spreads happiness.
Our culture involves charity at all festivals and celebrations. Feeding the poor, giving alms, and distributing sweets and gifts are all a part of it. It is rightly said,тАЭ The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service of othersтАЭ

Wisdom, altruism, and empathy have become an integral part of the ethos of MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School, all thanks to a brief visit to an elderly home on the 6th of November. This meaningful excursion was led by a group of respected teachers and IB World school students. Despite the brevity of the visit, its impact was profound, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. It prompted them to reflect on their own lives and the lives of others, fostering a newfound sense of empathy among everyone.
All the students eagerly boarded buses for the trip to the elderly home, driven by their curiosity to learn more about the experiences of past generations. The visit featured heartwarming performances and generous donations after an inspiring speech by one of MIT Gurukul’s teachers. The smiles┬аon the faces of the elderly residents revealed their satisfaction and appreciation for the students’ dedication and heartfelt performances. The students, in turn, were deeply touched by the wisdom and stories of these individuals who had faced many hardships in their lives.
In addition to the performances, students engaged in open and respectful conversations with the elderly residents, offering both respect and sympathy to those who appeared downtrodden. The connection between┬аthe young and old felt almost magical, transcending the decades that separated them. It was a reminder that, despite the age difference, they were all human beings connecting on a profound level. Adrika Sahoo shared a moving experience of conversing with an elderly woman who spoke her mother tongue, highlighting the importance of communication and understanding in bridging generational gaps.
The visit evoked a sense of compassion, although the elderly residents’ conditions were not pitiable. Many remarked on the overwhelming empathy they felt after leaving the elderly home. The experiences gained during this visit were truly transformative, instilling a new attitude within the school community тАФ one characterized by gratitude and benevolence. Consequently, the students of MIT VGS can confidently claim that their emotional intelligence extends beyond mere sympathy to encompass the depths of empathy and compassion.

MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School organized a visit to Samarpan Old Age Home for its students. The students were taken there a few days before their Diwali vacation began. The purpose of this visit was to bring a smile worth more than a million dollars to the faces of the old and aged people living in Samarpan Old Age Home.
There were approximately 50 students who visited the old age home. The majority of the students at MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School had gone on an international trip but the students who had not opted for the trip got a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with the Samarpan Old Age Home family.┬а
The students who were present on that day belonged to the Grades from MYP-1 to DP-2. MIT VGS had arranged a short-duration dance performance with MYP-2 students for everyone. Then they also gifted them greeting cards made by their students and other essentials for the upcoming Diwali festival. A few of the old people had teary eyes filled with joy and could see their grandchildren in the place of the students.

There were more old people resting upstairs in their rooms. They could not come downstairs and witness the dance performance and receive the gifts as they were completely bedridden. But, they also had their share of joy to experience so, the senior students of MITVGS, from MYP-4 to DP-2 were allowed to meet them. There were two rooms on each floor and a kitchen and each room had two to three people resting on separate beds. Not all of them were in a condition to interact with the students but those who were willing to interact had a hearty chat with the students. This was truly a sight to cherish.
This visit to Samarpan Old Age Home lasted for almost an hour and the students returned to the school by noon.

On the 29th of October, we kicked off our adventure in Paris. After a long flight, we dove straight into a city tour, exploring architectural wonders like the Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Palais, Champs-Elys├йes, Invalides, and the Opera House. The highlight of the day was a picturesque cruise along the River Seine, where we had the perfect view of the shimmering Eiffel Tower. Needless to say, I captured lots of amazing pictures!
The following day was an absolute dream for me тАУ we went to Disneyland! We spent the entire day riding thrilling roller coasters, exploring themed lands, and meeting our favourite Disney characters. The highlight of the day was the Halloween-themed parade, which featured spooky floats and mischievous villains. It was a truly magical experience that brought back all the nostalgia of my childhood.
Our third day began early with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, and we even made it to the top floor, despite the chilly weather and the slightly pricey macarons. The panoramic view was nothing short of breathtaking. We could see the entire city sprawling out before us. We then explored the Louvre Museum, marvelling at the Sphinx, historical French jewels, and, of course, the Mona Lisa. Even though two hours weren’t enough to absorb the museum’s beauty fully, it was a rich lesson in French culture and art history.
The next day, we embarked on a bus ride to Geneva, the headquarters of many international organisations. We visited the CERN exhibition centre, where we learned about the complexities of particle acceleration and quantum physics that were a bit over my head, but it was undeniably fascinating. A tour of the UN headquarters followed, offering insights into how UN meetings take place, and we also had a glimpse of the Red Cross Society building.
Our journey continued to Zurich, where we made a stop at the mesmerising Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. After clicking hundreds of photos, we indulged our sweet tooth by visiting the Lindt Chocolate Factory. The tour provided a fascinating history of chocolates, and I’m sure everyone left the chocolate shop with lighter wallets!
The next highlight was our visit to Mt Titlis, though strong winds prevented us from reaching the topmost floor. Nevertheless, we had a blast engaging in a snow fight and watching the breathtaking snowy landscape on the cable car ride.
Our final stop was the charming town of Lucerne, where we strolled across the Chapel Bridge, a historic pedestrian bridge adorned with 17th-century paintings. We then went on a shopping spree where we found unique souvenirs and indulged in Swiss cuisine (the macarons were pretty affordable).
As our trip came to an end, we bid farewell to these enchanting places with heavy hearts. This trip was truly a dream come true. I had the opportunity to explore two of the most beautiful and exciting countries in the world. On our flight back home, we carried with us not just souvenirs and photographs, but also a treasure trove of unforgettable memories.

ISSO National Games
MIT’s Vishwashanti Gurukul was the proud host of the 5th ISSO NATIONAL GAMES TENNIS AND ARCHERY sports meet. ISSO, the International Schools Sports Organisation, has envisioned a structured platform to nurture athletic talent across schools affiliated with international curriculums, officially recognized by the School Games Federation of India.
This pioneering initiative, dedicated to fostering sports within international curriculum schools affiliated with esteemed boards such as Cambridge, IB, and others, aims to strengthen the sports culture. We are honored to organize this grand event in our 125-acre campus, providing top-notch sports amenities.
We were honored to extend a heartfelt welcome to all esteemed dignitaries and were privileged to have the Director [Admin] of ISSO Ms. Aakansha Thapak gracing this occasion and Mr. Abhishek Saraswat the admin head of ISSO as guest of honor.
We had participants from 33 International schools across India on our campus for the ISSO Tennis and Archery Tournament, showcasing an array of exciting and challenging matches. The tournament, which spanned both day and night from the 24th to the 28th, proved to be a fantastic platform for students to demonstrate their skills and gain valuable experience.
Among the highlights, our tennis team secured a commendable silver medal in the doubles under 14 category, displaying exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship. In archery, our participants achieved outstanding success, clinching an impressive 6 gold, 7 silver, and 1 bronze medal. ISSO National GamesI was selected to represent MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Archery recurve bow under the 14 category. Due to Diwali vacations, I couldn’t practice up to the mark and till 23 November the day before ISSO was held, I was underconfident, nervous, and doubted myself. But with the help and encouragement from my family and archery coach, I performed well in the ISSO held on 24 November under the 14 category secured second place, and went home with a Silver medal.
