University Fair 2024
Global Pathways Unveiled: September’s Academic and Career Enrichment Initiatives”
The University Placement Office (UPO) actively organized a range of impactful sessions for DP1 and DP2 students in September, emphasizing global academic opportunities and career readiness.
We hosted a session with Ryan Carroll from Johns Hopkins University and a representative from Merrimack College, providing valuable insights into their admissions processes, academic offerings, and opportunities for global leadership and STEM-focused careers. The students also learned about various scholarship opportunities at these institutions.
In another key initiative, Univariety facilitated a session on the Alumni Portal, which enables students to connect with alumni for mentorship, providing crucial guidance on college applications and career decisions. This platform enhances networking opportunities, fostering meaningful relationships as students plan their academic futures.
The session on Hospitality and Culinary Arts by Doli Asrani from National Louis University offered students an in-depth look into dynamic careers in the global hospitality and culinary industries, with an emphasis on creativity, innovation, and international opportunities.
Our students participated in the World Education Fair, where they engaged directly with representatives from top global universities, exploring a variety of undergraduate programs, admissions processes, and scholarship opportunities. This event offered personalized guidance, allowing students to ask specific questions about courses, application timelines, and career pathways. It also provided invaluable exposure to international education systems from regions like the USA, UK, Europe, and beyond, helping students make informed decisions about their future academic and career paths. The fair is a key element in broadening their global perspective and shaping their academic journeys.
The month concluded with a session on Buildup Internships led by Riya Patil and Anushka, highlighting the importance of real-world experience. Internships are integral to profile building, as they bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, providing students with invaluable exposure to professional environments.
These initiatives reflect UPO’s commitment to equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary for their post-secondary success in today’s globalized academic environment.
