Tree Plantation Drive on Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Tree Plantation Drive by DP Students Marks Gandhi Jayanti Celebration at Vishwashanti Gurukul

In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, Vishwashanti Gurukul’s DP students embarked on a meaningful CAS initiative—an inspiring tree plantation drive. This event not only paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of environmental preservation and sustainability but also united the school community in a shared mission to make a lasting positive impact on the environment.

A Special Contribution from Alumnus Kshitij Chhajed

The success of the drive was elevated by the heartfelt contribution of school alumnus Kshitij Chajed, who generously donated a large number of trees for the plantation. His personal involvement and commitment to this initiative served as an inspiration to both current students and staff. Kshitij’s donation represents a deep connection to the values of the school, and his dedication to environmental responsibility is a shining example of the lasting influence our alumni have on the community.

Under the CAS program, DP students enthusiastically took charge of the plantation drive. Guided by the school’s CAS supervisors, the students worked together, selecting locations, planting the trees. This hands-on activity allowed them to explore the importance of environmental conservation while fulfilling the core values of their CAS learning objectives—creativity, activity, and service.

The students’ involvement in this drive is a testament to the spirit of Gandhi Jayanti, as they embraced the principles of selfless service and dedication to a cause greater than themselves. The event highlighted how practical, meaningful action can enhance their educational experience, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainability and ecological stewardship.

Community Collaboration

The tree plantation drive was a true community effort, with participation and support from several key members of the school. We extend our sincere thanks to the Head of School, DP Coordinator, Admin In-charge, and Gardener In-charge for their relentless support and planning. Their efforts, combined with the guidance of the CAS supervisors, ensured the success of this initiative. Their dedication to nurturing a green campus for future generations has left an indelible mark on the school’s environment and ethos.

Looking Ahead: A Greener Tomorrow

The trees planted during this drive will serve as a lasting reminder of the unity, service, and environmental consciousness shared by the students, staff, and alumni of Vishwashanti Gurukul. As these trees grow, they will not only enhance the beauty of the campus but also stand as a living tribute to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

The tree plantation drive is just one of many steps the school is taking to promote sustainability and environmental awareness. We are deeply grateful to all who contributed to this initiative, especially Kshitij Chajed, whose generous donation made a significant impact on the success of the event. His contribution has strengthened the bond between past and present students, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Let us all continue to honour the values of Gandhiji by working together for a greener, healthier world.
