Ganapati Visarjan at Vishwashanti Gurukul World School: A Celebration of Faith and Unity

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most cherished festivals in India, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion at Vishwashanti Gurukul World School this year. Known for uniting people in the spirit of reverence and celebration, the festival brought together students, teachers, and staff as they honoured the rich cultural heritage and traditions surrounding Lord Ganesha.

The celebrations began on the 7th of September, with the auspicious arrival of Lord Ganesha on the school campus. The entire Gurukul family came together, their hearts filled with joy and devotion, as they welcomed “Ganapati Bappa” with warmth and reverence. For the next five days, the atmosphere in the school was filled with the vibrant sounds of prayers, aartis, and celebrations, as students and teachers alike came together to offer their prayers and seek blessings from the Lord of Wisdom and Prosperity.

As the festival progressed, the excitement built up to the final day—the day of Ganapati Visarjan, on the 11th of September. The students, led by the Student Council, gathered for one last prayer before bidding farewell to their beloved deity. The energy in the air was palpable as the idol of Lord Ganesha was lifted by students, ready to be carried in a grand procession toward the river for immersion.

The sound of dhol and tasha, played by the talented students, filled the air as the procession moved forward. Traditional beats mixed with the heartfelt chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” while students danced energetically. It was a moment of pure devotion, joy, and community spirit, as everyone came together to celebrate the divine presence of Lord Ganesha one last time before his departure.

At the river basin, the final aarti was performed by the Respected Head of the School Mr. Venugopal, Vice Principal Mr. Arpit Sharma,  All the Coordinators, Teachers, and students admin staff. The aarti was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and hope, as prayers were offered for peace, prosperity, and success in the coming year. Following the aarti, the idol of Lord Ganesha was gently immersed in the river, marking the conclusion of the celebration.

As the waters embraced Lord Ganesha, there was a deep sense of fulfilment and faith among everyone present. The festival had brought not only joy and excitement but also a profound connection to tradition and community. The school bid a heartfelt farewell to Ganapati Bappa, with a prayer on everyone’s lips for his return the following year.

At Vishwashanti Gurukul World School, Ganapati Visarjan is not just a religious ceremony; it is a celebration of faith, unity, and cultural heritage. The festival reminds everyone that no matter how grand the celebrations, the true essence lies in togetherness, devotion, and the belief that Lord Ganesha’s blessings will always be with them.

“May Lord Ganesha fulfil all your wishes and return to us next year, bringing with him even more joy and prosperity!” –“Ganapati Bappa Morya “
