The 5th Annual Sports Day of Vishwashanti Gurukul IB World School, held on the 7th January started off with a bang. Mr Venu Gopal IGCSE Principal & IBDP Coordinator & Mrs. Rama Shinde PYP Principal graced the occasion. Mr VenuGopal cheered the students and reminded them the importance of sports in life.

Students from all the four houses- Prithvi, Agni, Vayu and Jal displayed a very synchronized and graceful march past that was widely appreciated. This was followed by the lighting of the torch and the oath taking ceremony by the School Sports Captains along with the House Sports Captains. The students from various grades exhibited wonderful talents ranging from martial arts to the pyramid formation by the Korean winter-camp students.

 The students showed outstanding sportsman-spirit and clean competition. And then it was the most awaited prize-distribution ceremony that left the students guessing on which student would win the individual championship in their respective categories and which house would be the winner. After showcasing their outstanding performance the Agni House was declared the winners and the Prithvi House the runners up.

The Sports Department is worthy of applause to have successfully pulled off the entire event in excellence, exceeding all expectations. The events were conducted most enthusiastically and stirred the excitement and anxiety in the crowd. The tug-of-war between the parents and the teachers was one that got the school at the top of its spirits.

Overall, this sports day was a spectacular event that has left its students refreshed for the endeavors to come.
